INDIE FOLK/AMERICANA

Meet The Burney Sisters

2017-present

The Burney Sisters are a sibling duo redefining indie-folk with soulful harmonies, heartfelt lyrics, and magnetic stage presence. Hailing from the Midwest, Emma and Bella Burney blend Folk, Soul, and Americana into a sound that feels both timeless and unmistakably current. Inspired by artists like Brandi Carlile, Phoebe Bridgers, Lizzy McAlpine, and Laura Marling, their music bridges generations while resonating with a new wave of listeners.

Emma’s talents on piano, violin, guitar, and cello pair seamlessly with Bella’s basslines, showcasing a musical depth and versatility beyond their years. Their songs explore themes of love, resilience, and self-discovery, connecting deeply with audiences across age groups.

After eight years of performing across the U.S., Canada, and the Caribbean, the sisters relocated from Columbia,MO to Huntsville, Alabama to immerse themselves in the music scenes of Muscle Shoals and Nashville. Following the release of multiple singles throughout 2025 and their most recent release in February 2026, they are currently focused on writing and collaboration, developing their next project with new music slated for release later this year. They are excited to continue evolving their sound and bringing their soulful live performances to new audiences nationwide and beyond.
